Deep navy tones combine with fluid brushwork to create a refined, contemporary abstract composition. Unresolved is shaped through expressive brushwork and layered marks, giving the abstract composition a clear sense of structure and movement. Overlapping fields, gestural marks and quieter areas of space create depth without fixing the composition to a literal subject. As an original painting, it feels polished and considered while keeping the artwork itself firmly at the centre.
The composition recalls colour, movement and the spontaneous language of contemporary abstraction, translated through navy, brown and beige tones and a restrained set of supporting tones. Colour is used to create atmosphere as much as contrast. The palette is carefully controlled, so brighter or darker accents add interest without pulling attention away from the composition. These cooler tones create a composed, restful mood without flattening the energy of the artwork.
