Deep black and warm orange tones meet expressive forms in this refined, contemporary composition. Time 3 is shaped through layered forms and expressive mark-making, giving the botanical composition a clear sense of structure and movement. Leaf-like shapes and flowing contours give the composition movement while keeping the overall arrangement elegant and controlled. As an original painting, it feels polished and considered while keeping the artwork itself firmly at the centre.
The composition recalls the organic silhouettes, movement and imperfect beauty found in nature, translated through black and orange tones and a restrained set of supporting tones. Colour is used to create atmosphere as much as contrast. Subtle shifts between the dominant and supporting tones keep the surface visually varied without disturbing the overall balance. Together, the elements create a distinctive contemporary artwork with a composed, gallery-like presence.
