Crisp white and soft blue tones meet expressive forms in this refined, contemporary composition. The Edge Of My Tether is shaped through layered forms and expressive mark-making, giving the abstract composition a clear sense of structure and movement. The eye moves between layered forms and open passages, allowing colour and mark-making to establish the structure of the piece. As an original painting, it feels polished and considered while keeping the artwork itself firmly at the centre.
Echoing colour, movement and the spontaneous language of contemporary abstraction, the palette is built around white, blue and grey tones, supported by quieter secondary colours that bring variation to the composition. Changes in tone and intensity create visual depth, helping the composition feel layered rather than flat or overly decorative. The restrained palette gives the artwork a quiet confidence and a timeless, collected feel.
