About The Artwork
Soft grey and warm beige tones meet expressive forms in this refined, contemporary composition. The character of Irrevocable Framed comes from layered forms and expressive mark-making, used with restraint across the abstract composition. The eye moves between layered forms and open passages, allowing colour and mark-making to establish the structure of the piece. The gallery wall arrangement retains a strong focal presence while allowing quieter passages to give the composition room to breathe.
The composition recalls colour, movement and the spontaneous language of contemporary abstraction, translated through grey and beige tones and a restrained set of supporting tones. Colour is used to create atmosphere as much as contrast. The secondary colours are used sparingly, adding depth and contrast while allowing the main palette to remain clearly defined. The restrained palette gives the artwork a quiet confidence and a timeless, collected feel.
