Soft blue tones meet gentle movement and painterly depth in this serene coastal composition. In Dreamscape I, layered forms and expressive mark-making establish the character of the seascape. The arrangement moves between open horizon-like space and more active marks, giving the scene a gentle sense of motion. The result is an original painting with a confident visual presence and enough subtlety to reward closer viewing.
The composition recalls the shifting light, open horizons and natural rhythm of the coast, translated through blue, brown and beige tones and a restrained set of supporting tones. Colour is used to create atmosphere as much as contrast. Changes in tone and intensity create visual depth, helping the composition feel layered rather than flat or overly decorative. The cooler palette gives the piece an atmospheric quality, balancing calm with enough contrast to retain presence.
