Layered colours combine with fluid brushwork to create a refined, contemporary abstract composition. The character of Composition 8 comes from expressive brushwork and layered marks, used with restraint across the abstract composition. Overlapping fields, gestural marks and quieter areas of space create depth without fixing the composition to a literal subject. The original painting retains a strong focal presence while allowing quieter passages to give the composition room to breathe.
The visual language takes cues from colour, movement and the spontaneous language of contemporary abstraction. Yellow, teal and navy tones anchor the palette, with secondary notes adding nuance and depth rather than competing for attention. The secondary colours are used sparingly, adding depth and contrast while allowing the main palette to remain clearly defined. The warmer colour story gives the artwork confidence and personality while the composition keeps the effect controlled.
