Warm orange tones meet expressive brushwork in this timeless, understated abstract composition. Changing brings together expressive brushwork and layered marks in a abstract composition that feels layered without becoming overworked. The eye moves between layered forms and open passages, allowing colour and mark-making to establish the structure of the piece. This gives the original painting a refined contemporary finish, with colour and composition carrying the visual impact.
The composition recalls colour, movement and the spontaneous language of contemporary abstraction, translated through orange and blue tones and a restrained set of supporting tones. Colour is used to create atmosphere as much as contrast. Changes in tone and intensity create visual depth, helping the composition feel layered rather than flat or overly decorative. Bold colour provides the focal energy, tempered by quieter areas that keep the overall piece refined rather than overpowering.
