Green Projects We Support-Abstract House

At Abstract House, sustainability has always been about more than packaging. It is about considering the impact of what we make, how we make it, and what we can give back along the way.

One of our favourite projects was Rewild — a simple idea designed to create something living beyond the artwork itself.

With every order, we included a packet of wildflower seeds for customers to plant at home. In gardens, window boxes, balconies or shared green spaces, those seeds had the potential to become small pockets of colour and biodiversity — providing food and habitat for bees, butterflies and other pollinators.

It was a small gesture, but one that reflected a bigger belief: that thoughtful choices, repeated often enough, can make a meaningful difference.

Rethinking Art Packaging

Long before sustainable packaging became an expectation, we were looking for better ways to protect artwork without relying on unnecessary materials.

Abstract House was the first online art gallery to introduce sustainable packaging, and we have continued to refine it ever since.

Our artworks are packed using recyclable cardboard boxes, paper tape and carefully selected protective materials. Where bubble wrap is required to safely protect framed artwork in transit, we use recycled and recyclable bubble wrap, helping us balance responsible material choices with the need to ensure every piece arrives safely.

We avoid foam packaging and unnecessary single-use plastics wherever possible, while continually looking for ways to reduce waste throughout our production and fulfilment process.

Made With The Future In Mind

Sustainability is not a finished project. Materials improve, processes evolve and there is always more that can be done.

From planting wildflowers through Rewild to reconsidering the materials surrounding every artwork we send, our approach has always been the same: make thoughtful choices, improve where we can, and create beautiful things with greater consideration for the world around us.
