Architectural Designs Of The Highest Standing
The annual AIA Los Angeles Design Awards is one of the most prestigious award shows in the architecture calendar. Created to honour the excellence of built developments by architects in Los Angeles, the winning designs are determined by their merit and visual aesthetics by a leading panel of judges in the design community.
Previous winners include Brooks + Scarpa for their reconstructed design of Animo South Los Angeles, a high school which was tragically destroyed by a fire.

It's no surprise that the design of this residence so aptly named was carefully considered. Studied from top to bottom, the calculated structure and window features selected to maximise the natural light in the space - a feature very difficult to achieve.
Architecture Magazine details that the apartment features custom lighting design by Smith + Andersen and textiles by Dutch artist Claudy Jongstra.

The brilliance of this design derives not only from the hidden storage compartments which add a new dimension to the style and decor of the space, but the vision of space itself in the apartment which won ASAP/Adam Sokol Architecture Practice the prestigious Merit award for single-family residences up to 2,500 square feet.
